Meet the Team
Otter Tri is a Youth and Junior High-Performance Development Triathlon Team.
Development Programs
Don’t let the jungle gym fool you. Our River Otters (8-10) are serious about racing. We just like to have fun as well.
Our Giant River Otters (11&up) start transitioning to road bikes and exploring skills related to Draft-Legal or Endurance Focused Events.

Beginning with GROs (11&up), Otters start transitioning to road bikes and exploring skills related to Draft-Legal or Endurance focused events.
The Racing
The Racing River Otters (13-18 and U23s) are pursuing Draft-Legal Racing or are Endurance Focused. Fast is Fun!
High School Club Team
The HSCT is designed for HS kids who are balancing other sports or clubs and want to train and race for triathlon.
Coach Meg has encouraged me to push myself physically and mentally so that I can become a better athlete. I think Coach Meg is a great coach. I love the OtterTriTeam!

Meet Coach Meg
Meg founded OtterTriTeam in 2016 to share her love of triathlon with kids. After working in conjunction with the Houston YMCA and Houston Kids Triathlon, she saw the need to create more opportunity.
Coming from a High Performance Background in Track and Field, Meg learned a great deal from her first Draft-Legal Season. Taking that knowledge and backing it with her coaching skills, she continues to strive for excellence in her coaching and from the athletes with whom she works.
Meg has:
-MS in Sport Injury Management
-CSCS
-USAT Level II — Y&J, short and long course,
-USAT Level III candidate
-UESCA — Run Coach
– UESCA – Endurance Sports Nutrition Coach
– USATF – Level 1 & Cross-Country
Meg is recognized by WTO, having completed courses through their educational platform. She is also a member of the GAIN Network.
